Imports
import (
"fmt"
"math"
)
Or
import "fmt"
import "math"
Exported names
In Go, a name is exported if it begins with a capital letter. For example, Pizza
is an exported name, as is Pi
, which is exported from the math
package.
Functions
A function can take zero or more arguments.
In this example, add
takes two parameters of type int
.
Notice that the type comes after the variable name.
package main
import "fmt"
func add(x int, y int) int {
return x + y
}
func main() {
fmt.Println(add(42, 13))
}
Parameter Types
The Omission of Defining Parameter Types
When two or more consecutive named function parameters share a type, you can omit the type from all but the last.
In this example, we shortened
x int, y int
to
x, y int
package main
import "fmt"
func add(x, y int) int {
return x + y
}
func main() {
fmt.Println(add(42, 13))
}
